Backup VMware vSphere VM with snapshot

Question

I have installed Vinchin as a virtual machine on VMware ESXi, added ESXi into Vinchin Backup & Recovery. But when I perform the backup of VMs, it failed with below message.

Job Failed, #[46] Job error
Backing up VM 'xxxx' error,  #[3040] Failed to create snapshot

Issue Description

Backing up the VMs based on creating snapshot, it should further locate the root cause of failed to create snapshot. Therefore, please refer to the below suggestions.

Resolution

VMware vSphere License

• The license NOT the free edition license
• The license has not expired

The VM can manually create a snapshot

• Please refer to Snapshot Limitations

VMware vSphere and Vinchin connectivity

• Vinchin can establish connection with ESXi host via DNS Server
• Vinchin are able to establish connection via 443 and 902 port
