Solutions Malware Scan

Malware Scan is an integrated feature in Vinchin Backup & Recovery that performs automated malware detection on backup data after backup completion or before recovery. You just need to enable it by one click when creating a backup job for workloads. By inserting a trusted scanning step into the recovery path, Vinchin prevents contaminated backups from being restored to production, greatly improving recovery reliability and post-recovery security.

Key Benefits of Vinchin Malware Scan

Proactive Threat Detection

As long as you create a backup job with Malware Scan enabled, scan will be automatically performed after backups finish or before recovery, enabling proactive detection and containment of threats instead of reacting after a ransomware incident and reducing the risk of spreading infection during recover.

Built-in Scanning Engines

Vinchin integrates ClamAV and Kaspersky via SDK, embedding trusted scanning directly in the backup system. SDK-based integration is faster and more secure than mount-and-scan. It simplifies operations, centralizes management, reduces attack surface and I/O overhead, and accelerates clean restores.

Clean and Trusted Recoveries

By using built-in reputable scanning engines and recovery verification, Vinchin ensures backups are clean before restoration and only clean data returns to production environment. It also prevents reinfection, reduces post incidents downtime and gives IT team confidence that restores are reliable and safe.
