Alters with [#96]File rename error

Question

Backup Jobs running normally, but continuously generate alerts with [#96]File rename error

Answer

Please first check if the vinchin version is higher than 9.0.0.91528-SP2. If not, please upgrade vinchin to the latest version and re-run the backup job to see if the alters still show.

If the above method does not work, please confirm whether both of the following two conditions are met simultaneously below:

• Similar to the function of WORM, it is activated at the backup storage site.
• Backup job retention type is "By restore point".

Worm protection on storage site has a slight conflict with retention type "By restore point" which is preventing vinchin to rename the files under storage.

Solution

Try to change the retention type as "By backup chains", then re-run the job to see if the alters disappear.
