Business Challenge

Sistema Asesores de León, S.A. de C.V. was established in September of 1990 in Mexico. With more than 26 years in the market, Grupo Systema has positioned itself nationally as a leading company in technological solutions. They have certifications from the main manufacturers to offer and implement advanced solutions in information technologies, including software, hardware, dedicated systems, virtualization, networks, IoT/IIoT, etc.

One of their customer’ IT infrastructure is mostly built upon virtualization. “We have applications and tools for network management on XenServer hosts, which play a vital role to keep all of our services functioning normally,” says their custmoer, “so we emphasize a lot on the importance of having all data well protected.”

To meet their expectation for stable XenServer protection, they are working in the design of a solution to cooperate with the cloud backup service they are using. All of their customers make a simple local backup of file directories and SQL Databases; and then on night do a security copy of those directories and SQL .bak files to the cloud. They would like to offer customers a more efficient solution with Vinchin for the cloud backup because in some cases the night jobs freezes or take too long to complete mainly due to the SQL .bak files.

After 2 months evaluation, they finally choose Vinchin Backup & Recovery. “Because it’s a reliable product and their team is great. During the test progress, we had a few problem, honestly it is BUG, but Vinchin surprised me, when we talk to the Citrix support, they didn’t explain why although they solved the problem finally. So we went to Vinchin, the technical staff was very polite and patient, explained why the BUG exists and provided me a patch in the same day. Very efficient company.” 

In response to their requirements, the Vinchin team has engaged in multiple communications with them. By combining their core business needs and disaster recovery objectives, a practical and tailored Vinchin backup and disaster recovery plan has been formulated to ensure the stable and reliable operations.

First, using vinchin’s VM Backup feature to back up a virtual machine that has a target database or file. Second, archiving VM backup data to cloud storage at night with Vinchin’s Backup Archive feature. Third, backing up the database, and using the File Backup function to back up files. Last, to further ensure data protection, making backup copies of the database backup data and file backup data to the Disaster Recovery Site at night and providing a free license for the Disaster Recover Site to enable them to make remote copy.
