Fédération Nationale Des Chasseurs (FNC), composed of 13 regional federations of hunters and 94 departmental federations of hunters, represents and defends rights of 5 million license holders, including 1.1 million practitioners and 500,000 volunteers in France. The organization is in charge of the hunting promotion, defense and interests at the national level, and is approved as an association of environment protection by the Minister for Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing for its expertise in nature protection.

With a crowd of staff and bodies affiliated with it, FNC has too much to handle on its plate. To cope with such huge amount of data, the only choice is to virtualize the IT system for better storage and management as well. So, it goes for XCP-ng. Protection solution for virtualization technology always go together. The organization demands a powerful solution that entails easy job configurations, administration and fancy recovery technologies. Not only because the bulk of the workload requires so, but also because it secures the data methodically.

"To manage 94 sub-institutions is not as easy as it looks. We categorize, store and use the vast amount of data and the whole process contains many steps. The IT team always wants a file-level recovery. They had to restore the whole VM even though they just needed some files in it sometimes. The IT director explained why they need it,“We could restore the whole VM to get the specific files we need but it takes a while. And that is not so friendly when needed, especially in an emergency.”
