Vinchin Backup & Recovery provides agentless volume-level backups of AWS EC2 instances. For instance restore, it offers Full Restore, Granular Restore(file-level) and V2V migration between AWS EC2 and on-prem virtualizations.
Installation & Configuration
You can get the installation package on the download page and then install it on a virtual machine or physical machine.
After that, upload the license that we send to you in the email.
Add backup storage before creating a backup job.
Before creating a backup job, you need to first connect the AWS cloud platform to Vinchin.
Backup EC2 Instance:
After adding the AWS cloud platform, you can create a backup job in 4 steps.
- Select the EC2 instance you want to backup.
- Select backup storage.
- Configure backup strategies.
- Submit the job.
Restore EC2 Instance:
When you need to restore an EC2 instance, just select the restore point in the system and create a restore job in 4 steps.
- Select a target EC2 Instance restore point under the AWS cloud platform.
- Select a target AWS account on which you wish to run the restored Instances.
- Configure strategies or just skip it
- Submit the job
In addition to restore fully functional EC2 instances by using the in-cloud snapshot or off-cloud backup data, you can also use it to perform granular restore to quickly extract file from it.
