Sangfor backup failed: snapshot limit exceeded — looking for some advice

Ran a backup today and it failed with the following message:
ERROR: #5046 Snapshot number exceeded the limitationAnd on the backup_server side:
"message": "Number of snapshots cannot exceed 7"
It seems the snapshot count hit the upper limit, but I’m hesitant to delete anything manually in case it breaks the chain. Has anyone run into this before? How do you usually troubleshoot or handle this situation? Any insights would be appreciated 🙏

Harvey Hi Harvey, this happens when the VM has reached the maximum number of snapshots allowed by the platform. Just manually remove some of the older snapshots and the backup should run normally again.

Harvey Don’t worry too much — removing snapshots won’t break anything as long as you only delete the top-level ones created by the platform.
