Help! ESXi Restore Failed - Missing LiveCD.iso

Hi everyone,

I'm having a tough issue with a cross-platform restore and could really use some help!

I'm trying to restore a backup from another platform (e.g., Hyper-V / KVM) to a standalone ESXi host, but the job keeps failing. The run log shows these two errors, and I'm not sure how to fix them:

[ERROR:3174#Vmware add disk for vm error]: create vm error
(Looks like it's failing to add a disk to the VM?)

[ERROR:95#File not exsit error]: not found driver file,filepath:/opt/vinchin/driver/LiveCD.iso
(This one says it can't find a driver file named LiveCD.iso!)

My environment:

Target ESXi host version: ESXi 7.0 U3

Vinchin Backup & Recovery version: Vinchin Virtual Backup 7.0

Has anyone run into this before? What is this LiveCD.iso file? Was it missing during installation, or do I need to manually place it in a specific directory?

Thank you for reporting this issue. This is a known problem that occurred in version V8.0, and a fixed version is now available.

Root Cause:
The issue occurred because the new V8.0 version requires manual selection of the correct Operating System Type (OS Type) during cross-platform restoration to VMware. Due to API differences between standalone ESXi and vCenter platforms, the backup system failed to handle this requirement correctly when interfacing with standalone ESXi hosts. This resulted in the system's inability to automatically load the required driver CD (LiveCD.iso), causing the "add disk failure" and "driver file not found" errors.

Solution:
This issue has been resolved in the latest V8.0 HOTFIX02 release. Please contact our technical support team or your account manager to obtain and upgrade to the following fixed version:

Fixed package name: vinchin_enterprise_en-update-package-rocky9-x86-8.0.0.31778-to-8.0.0.47864-HOTFIX02-20240710050121.tar.gz
MD5 checksum: 4b5c7897bc11252c7d438158dbd1415f

After upgrading to this version, the issue will be resolved.
