License-609 error, failed to add license

Hi everyone,
I ran into an issue while using Vinchin Server. When I tried to add a license, I got the following error:

Add License failed, error code: #609
error description: VM number in backup jobs exceeded limitation of the license key,
please reduce VM number in backup jobs and upload again

It seems to suggest that the number of VMs in my backup jobs exceeded the license limitation, but I’m not sure how to fix this.

Should I remove or adjust some backup jobs, or do I need to request a new license key with a higher VM limit? Has anyone faced this issue before?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi Peter,

Yeah, error #609 just means your license doesn’t cover the number of VMs you’ve got in your backup jobs. If you’re backing up more VMs than the license allows, the upload will fail.

Easiest fix: cut down or adjust the backup jobs so the VM count is within your license limit, then try uploading the license again.
