[Poll] Where do you feel most secure storing your VM backups?

Some trust the fast recovery of on-premises storage, others prefer offsite or cloud options for disaster protection, and some go for a hybrid setup to balance cost and risk.

I store my VM backups on-premises for fast recovery. Sometimes I also copy them to the cloud for extra safety.

Mostly cloud backups for disaster protection, but keep a small local copy for quick restores.

We keep production VM backups on a fast on-prem NAS for quick recovery, then replicate daily incremental backups to offsite object storage for redundancy. This gives very short RTOs while protecting against site failures.

RTO/RPO testing showed local restores average 10 minutes while remote restores take hours. So we use local+offsite and let metrics drive retention policies.
