The concept of Cloud Computing

At present, there are many definitions of Cloud Computing. There are at least 100 explanations for what cloud computing is. It is widely accepted that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NTSI) defines: Cloud Computing is a model by paying as the amount of usage. This mode provides available, convenient, and on-demand network access, and enters the configurable computing resource sharing pool (resources include network, server, storage, application software, and services). These resources can be provided quickly and only need to be provided Investment in management, or little interaction with service providers.

First of all, for Cloud Computing, "Cloud"  is a metaphor for the Web and the Internet, which is the abstract of the Internet and the build abstractions of the underlying infrastructure needed for the Internet. "Computing" of course does not refer to general numerical computing, but refers to the computing services (including various functions, resources, and storage) provided by a sufficiently powerful computer."Cloud computing" can be understood as a service provided to you by a sufficiently powerful computer on the network, only that the service is paid for according to your usage.

There are five characteristics of Cloud Computing
1. Internet-based
Cloud Computing involves connecting servers to each other so that data can be transferred from one server to another, just like the "cloud" on the network floating between different servers. At the same time through the network to provide services to users.
2. On-demand service
The size of the cloud is dynamically scalable. When using cloud computing services, the computer resources obtained by users are increased or decreased according to their personalized needs, and on this basis, they pay for the services they use.
3. Resource pooling
The resource pool is a configuration mechanism for the unified configuration of various resources (such as storage resources, network resources). From the perspective of users, you don't need to care about the device model, internal complex structure, implementation method, and geographical location, you just need to care about what services you need. From the perspective of a resource manager, the greatest benefit is that the resource pool can be increased, decreased, and replaced almost indefinitely, and it is very easy to manage and schedule resources.
4. Safe and reliable
Cloud Computing must ensure the sustainability, security, efficiency, and flexibility of services. Therefore, providers must adopt various redundant mechanisms, backup mechanisms, sufficiently secure management mechanisms, and flexible mechanisms to ensure access to massive data, so as to ensure the safety and reliability of users' data and services. For users, just need to pay a fee, they can get professional-level security protection provided by the supplier, which saves a lot of time and energy.
5. Controllable resources
The original intention of Cloud Computing is that people can use Cloud Computing services as conveniently as water and electricity, which greatly facilitates people's access to computing service resources, provides a large utilization rate of computing resources, and effectively saves costs so that resources belong to the "control category" to a certain extent. However, how to carry out reasonable and effective billing for cloud computing services is still a subject worthy of industry attention.
