In order to make a terminal achieve the goal of practicality and aesthetics, it is necessary to start from the aspects of function, appearance, operation, and quality.
The terminals are diversified in appearance and are classified as follows.
1. Classification by function
1) Human/computer interaction terminal
Continuously input information through the keyboard, mouse, touch screen, voice control, and other means, output calculation results through display, printer, speaker, light-emitting lamp and other devices, and man-machine cooperate to complete various tasks, such as various desktop cloud terminals, smartphones, tablet computers, etc.
2) Machine/machine interactive terminal
Various intelligent appliances in life, intelligent assembly lines in factories, industrial robots, etc. These machines themselves interact directly with embedded cloud terminals to complete control and information collection tasks.
3) Input terminal
Continuously collect data and continuously transmit it to the cloud. These data will be stored and calculated in the cloud, such as detectors, data acquisition cards, cameras, human monitors, etc.
4) Output terminal
The cloud outputs the calculation results through these terminals, such as music player, video player, printer, manipulator, navigator, display screen, etc.
2. Classification by mobility
1) Mobile terminal
It runs on off-line energy and is relatively light and easy to move. It is often held in hand, worn on the body, worn on the head, and placed on mobile devices.
2) Fixed terminal
Relatively speaking, they are large and heavy. They are often seen on desks, smart devices, and walls, as shown in the left figure in Figure 1.
3) Fixed / mobile terminal
The terminal is composed of several parts, which can be easily disassembled and assembled. When assembled together, it acts as a fixed terminal for office, software development, and graphics processing; After disassembly, it is easy to carry and move.
3. Classification by screen size
The screen covers various sizes of 1 ~ 50 inches, which are divided into the following categories according to size.
1) Mobile terminals under 5 inches
It is mainly used for communication, small content information sending and receiving (SMS, WeChat, microblog, etc.), music playing, navigation, small games, information collection, remote monitoring, remote positioning, photography, etc. it can be carried and used anytime and anywhere, truly reflecting the man-machine integrated cloud life. Most people use it in their hands when they walk around. However, such mobile terminals are easy to be lost, stolen, and damaged, so it is very important to store data in the cloud.
2) 5-9 inch terminals
The main functions include large content information reading (such as web pages, emails, various documents, pictures, videos, etc.), various weakly interactive apps, nonrecurrent information collection (such as meeting minutes, interview records, etc.), coupled with other interactive components (such as keyboard, mouse logo, large display, etc.), which can realize daily office. Most people use it in their hands when standing.
3) 10 to 14 inches terminals
The separation of input/output components (such as keyboard and display) can complete most of the daily office, which belongs to a real mobile office terminal. After sitting down, most people can put it on their legs or table to work.
4) 15-18 inch (excluding 18 inch) terminals
With the touch screen, it is often fixed. It is mostly used for information queries in public places, family photo albums and video phones (hung on the family wall), learning and entertainment machines for the elderly and children, touch control of intelligent devices, intelligent conference hall, smart classroom, family music playback, etc.
5) 18 to 24 inches terminals
Fixed office terminal, replacing the current desktop, completing daily office, picture processing, audio and video editing, film and television post-production, software development, games, etc., equipped with standard input components.
6) 25 to 31 inches terminals
With the touch screen, it is often fixed. It is mostly used for information queries in public places, not mass products.
7) 32 to 50 inches terminals
It is mainly used for entertainment and information display and adopts the remote control input method.
The Cloud terminal is a device directly carried and operated by users. The use environment is ever-changing, so quality is very important. The cloud terminal shall be made into pure hardware equipment, and the software used on the terminal shall be fully solidified or semi solidified.
Full solidification means that the software cannot be modified or deleted at all; Semi curing means that users are not allowed to change and delete the software themselves, but are allowed to upgrade and patch online and provide the one-click recovery function of the factory configuration. This can greatly reduce the failure rate of products and prolong the depreciation period.
In addition, the terminal uses as little software as possible or even only solidifies a download program (bootloader). When starting, the downloaded software temporarily downloads the customized and tailored operating system and session software from the cloud, then executes the operating system, and finally runs the session software to complete the operation of logging in to the cloud. However, this technology requires the network to be fast enough.
The ultimate method is not to download the program, but directly use the network startup technology of the network card. When starting, the network card on the terminal directly obtains the required software and starts the terminal.
